Who we are

This notice covers Hits the Spot and hits-thespot.co.uk. Contact privacy@hits-thespot.co.uk about personal information or your data rights. This address reaches our customer-support inbox.

Information we process

Orders involve your contact details, billing and delivery addresses, products, payment status and order correspondence. Accounts hold your account details, saved addresses and order history. Guest checkout is available.

Enquiries include the name, email address and message you provide. Website and security systems process technical information including IP addresses, browser details, timestamps and security events. Please avoid sending sensitive information about your health or sex life unless necessary to explain your request.

Purposes and lawful bases

We use order information to perform our contract with you, including payment, delivery and returns. Records needed for tax, accounting or other legal obligations are kept for those purposes. Handling ordinary enquiries and protecting the shop from fraud and abuse serve legitimate business interests, balanced against your rights.

Optional marketing and non-essential tracking require an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, consent. You can withdraw marketing consent through an unsubscribe link or by contacting us; this does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Payments and service providers

The shop uses WooCommerce, PayPal and WooPayments integrations. Available payment methods depend on your checkout. Payment providers process payment information under their own privacy notices; order records include payment status and transaction references.

Information needed to fulfil orders may be shared with payment providers, delivery and fulfilment suppliers. Hosting, email and website-support providers process information needed to run the shop.

Security checks

Cloudflare Turnstile protects contact and registration forms and processes browser and network information to distinguish people from automated abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Security systems also record information needed to investigate suspicious activity.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies support basket contents, checkout, sign-in and security. Browser controls can remove or block cookies, but this may affect shopping features. Third-party services used on the site may also process browser and device information under their own privacy notices.

Contact privacy@hits-thespot.co.uk for information about the services used by the shop.

How long information is kept

We keep personal information for the purposes described in this notice, taking account of order fulfilment, customer support, applicable tax and accounting obligations, fraud prevention and the establishment or defence of legal claims. Retention depends on the type of record and the reason it is needed. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion, subject to any legal reason to retain it.

International processing

Some website, payment and security providers may process information outside the UK. Contact us for information about the providers relevant to your information and the arrangements applying to that processing.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Some information may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Email privacy@hits-thespot.co.uk to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month; the law allows extensions in some circumstances.

Questions and complaints

Please contact us first so we can help. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
